Ritigala Buddhist monastery and ruins and inscription date back to1st century BCE. Mountain range is containing 4 peaks; highest peak is southern peak (600M). This is the highest peak in northern Sri Lanka. As a result of that, the mountain range is with high rainfall in dry zone [south west & northwest monsoons]. Heights parts of range are rain forest and most important lower level is i dry zone.
Stone Bridges, Raised platforms, Courtyards’, artificial water fall (by placing stone slab between two rocks), huge stone cut Ayourwadic bath and sunken courtyards. These all constriction is reveling the Skill ness of Sri Lankan Architecture.
